Ingredients

Chicken Broth
1 cup (240ml)
Soy Sauce
2 tablespoons (30ml)
Minced Garlic
1 teaspoon (5g)
Chicken Breast
4 ounces (113g), thinly sliced
Egg
1 large egg (for soft-boiled egg)
Leek
1 small (100g), white and light green parts only, sliced
Imitation Crab
2 ounces (57g) surimi, sliced
Ramen Noodles
1 package (85g) - discard seasoning packet

Instructions

  1. In a pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Add the chicken broth and 2 tablespoons of soy sauce to create a soy-based broth.
  3. Add 1 teaspoon of minced garlic and simmer for 5 minutes to develop flavor.
  4. In a separate pot, cook the ramen noodles according to package directions, then drain well.
  5. While the noodles cook, heat a small skillet and cook the sliced chicken with a pinch of salt and pepper until fully cooked.
  6. For the soft-boiled egg (safer alternative to raw egg): bring a small pot of water to a boil. Carefully lower in the egg and cook for exactly 6 minutes. Remove and place in ice water. Once cool, peel and slice in half.
  7. Chop the leek into thin slices.
  8. Slice the surimi (imitation fish cake) into thin rounds.
  9. Place cooked noodles in a bowl and ladle the hot broth over them.
  10. Arrange the cooked chicken slices, soft-boiled egg half, surimi slices, and chopped leek on top.
  11. Serve immediately while hot.
